ABSTRACTNumber of patients with chronic renal failure is increasing from time to time.
Hemodialisis is one alternative therapy kidney is the most preferred by patients.
Hemodialysis is a process that is carried out by means of a tube to drain blood
into the artificial kidney. This study aims to determine the relationship between
the level of knowledge and anxiety in patients undergoing hemodialysis readiness
is the first time in the RS Bengkulu. This research is the use of cross-sectional
design with a sample of patients undergoing hemodialysis in the hospital the first
time in Bengkulu province, amounting to 46 respondents, taken with c onsecutive
sampling technique. Data analysis using chi-square and independent t-test at α
5%. The results showed no correlation between knowledge and anxiety
hemodialysis patients undergoing hemodialysis with readiness the first time.
Nurses need to improve the knowledge and health education and counseling for
increase the psychological readiness when first responders undergoing
hemodialysis.
