This research was conducted to examine the relationship between father involvement and social competence in middle adolescence (15-17 years old). Researcher used Nurturant Fathering Scale (NFS) and Father Involvement Scale developed by Finley and Schwartz (2004) to measure father involvement. Whereas social competence was measured by Interpersonal Competence Questionnaire-Revised developed by Buhrmester (2002). The participants of this research are 121 high school students from intact families and middle to high social class (SES). The results showed no significant relationship between father involvement and social competence (r = 0,143, p>0,05; r = 0,109, p>0,05; r = -0,07, p>0,05; r = 0,03, p>0,05). However, father involvement was found to have a significant correlation with one dimension of social competence, that is initiating relationship. Based on domain of father involvement, affective domain has the biggest coefficient of correlation with social competence (r=0,143).
