In this thesis, Ingeborg Bachmann's works Undine geht and Der gute Gott von Manhattan are analyzed based on the discourse analysis theory of Michel Foucault in order to reveal the discourse german Women's image in the year fifties that is combined within the texts. Moreover, this thesis is also aimed to find out whether both of Bachmann's texts speak about the same discourse of gennan Women's image in the year fifties as what was proliferated at that historical period or speak about the other and different one. To reveal this the writer need to compare the texts with some non-literature texts that also emerged at the same historical period.
